Citi Prestige® Credit Card
Why it’s a great offer: I’d argue this is the single most compelling credit card out there right now. Not only does the credit card offer a 50,000 point sign-up bonus, but it offers a ton of perks which more than offset the annual fee. This includes a $250 per calendar year airline credit (with your first year’s annual fee you get two of those $250 credits), Admirals Club access, a Priority Pass Select membership, a fourth night free benefit on hotels, a Global Entry fee credit, and much more.
Ink Plus® Business Credit Card
I would argue this is the all around best business credit card out there. The Ink credit cards have extremely generous category bonuses which help sole proprietorships and small businesses maximize points on everyday credit card spend, including 5x points at office supply stores, and on cell phones, internet, and cable TV, and double points on gas and hotels.
British Airways Visa Signature® Credit Card
Why it’s a great offer: British Airways has a distance based award chart which is extremely lucrative for shorthaul travel, as awards start at just 4,500 Avios one-way. Given that short flights are often disproportionately expensive when paying cash, I’ve found Avios to be incredibly useful. You can also earn a British Airways Travel Together ticket for spending $30,000 on the card in a calendar year.
Citi ThankYou® Premier Credit Card
This credit card goes very well with the Citi Prestige® Card, given that points can be pooled. If you have both cards then you can redeem points for 1.6 cents towards the cost of an American/US Airways ticket, or points can be transferred to one of the ThankYou Rewards transfer partners.
Chase Sapphire Preferred® Credit Card
Why it’s a great offer: Ultimate Rewards points can be transferred at a 1:1 ratio to Korean Air, United, Hyatt, and many other programs. This credit card is also great for everyday spend given that it offers double points on dining and travel.
Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards® Premier Credit Card
Southwest’s Rapid Rewards program is revenue based, so 50,000 points will get you quite a bit of credit towards travel on Southwest. While Rapid Rewards points aren’t the most aspirational currency, they are extremely practical. This sign-up bonus can be especially valuable if you’re going for Southwest Companion Pass. Furthermore, you receive 6,000 points each year upon your account anniversary.
Barclaycard Arrival Plus World Elite MasterCard®
Why it’s a great offer: Each point can be redeemed for one cent towards the cost of travel, and you get a 5% refund of redeemed miles, making each point worth 1.05 cents. This is also a great creditcard to use in conjunction with award tickets on airlines that levy fuel surcharges, so can be a huge cost-saver.
Citi® Hilton HHonors Reserve Credit Card
Two free weekend nights at most Hilton family properties after spending $2,500 within four months of account opening. These free night certificates are redeemable all the way up to Category 10 properties, potentially making this sign-up bonus worth the equivalent of 190,000 HHonors points.
Club Carlson Premier Rewards Visa Signature Credit Card
You earn 5x points per dollar spent on the card, so once you’ve spent $3,000 on the card you’ll have 100,000 points. Many of Club Carlson’s best hotels cost just 50,000 points per night, so that’s enough points for two nights at some of Club Carlson’s top properties. You can also redeem points for premium rooms and suites, which really increases the value of these points.
Hyatt Visa Credit Card
The Hyatt Visa gives you 2 free nights after meeting the spending requirement. You can also earn an extra 5,000 bonus points by adding an authorized user. These nights can be used at any Hyatt property worldwide—including Park Hyatt’s that run $500+ per night! Other card perks include a free night at a category 1-4 hotel and automatic Platinum status every year you pay the card’s $75 annual fee.
